The best and highest quality shea butter is extracted by cold pressing. It is an important source of anti-inflammatory substances. Shea butter promotes collagen production and counteracts the effects that contribute to premature skin aging. It protects cells from oxidative stress.

Shiitake is native to Asia, where it is also used in gastronomy. It is said that its taste is 4−10 times more concentrated than in other mushrooms, so it is suitable forflavouring meat, soups, sauces or salads.Shiitake is a wood-decaying Basidiomycota growing on fallen trees or stumps. There are two types of Shiitake in Japan,a more prized donko with a closed cap and a koshin with an open cap. Shiitake is now grown commercially in controlled grow houses as the demand for it is huge. The first mention of Shiitake comes from the works of Chinese medicine from a period2000 years ago. Shiitake is said to be the 'queen of mushrooms' or the 'elixir of life', for which its composition predestines it. Shiitake is rich in essential amino acids, minerals and B vitamins, as well as provitamin D2. Other substances that can be found in Shiitake are, for example, the purine alkaloid eritadenine, polysaccharides ‒ beta glucans, which include lentinates, etc.

Sodiumbenzoate is the sodium salt of benzoic acid. It is a colourless to white crystalline powder soluble in water. It also occurs in nature, e.g. in cranberries, plums, cinnamon, ripe cloves and apples. It is used as an ingredient of the preservation system. It prevents or slows down the growth of bacteria. This protects the cosmetic product from deterioration.

It is a derivative of natural cellulose in the form of  a light powder which is obtained from wood pulp and cotton. It improves the binding between the individual ingredients and creates pleasant and  easy-to-spread emulsions. It is not absorbed into the body which safely eliminates it. The substance is good for vegans.

Salt is an inorganic substance of mineral origin naturally present in seawater and in the form of rock salt. In cosmetics, it is used to adjust the viscosity of the product. It has toning, cleaning, antiseptic and abrasive effects. It has a hydrating effect, removes impurities and dead cells, soothes and softens the skin.

Tocopherol is one of the naturally present antioxidants called vitamin E. Two types of vitamin E are mainly used in cosmetics - tocopherol (naturally present in wheat germ oil, for example) and tocopherylacetate (synthetic vitamin E). We can also come across d-alpha-tocopherol in the ingredients, which is of natural origin and is best absorbed. All E vitamins act as antioxidants and prevent rancidification of oils and butters. Vitamin E is vital for the human body. Tocopheryl acetate is formed artificially, is more stable and prolongs the life of the product slightly more than natural tocopherol. However, it is less absorbable for the skin. Tocopherol is formed by vacuum separation from vegetable oils and is well absorbed into the skin. Both vitamins E are strong antioxidants, fight the effects of free radicals, prevent premature aging (pigment spots, wrinkles, loss of firmness and elasticity) and reduce scaling skin. They act as preservatives in cosmetics.

Toothache plant is native to South America. It has a lifting effect and prevents the formation of wrinkles.
